Open at 6:00
Show at 7:00

The theme of this annual concert, "Stop the Clock' is in reference to the startling statistic that somewhere in America, a woman is raped every 2 minutes.
The U.S. Justice Department states that half of these victims are under the age of 18.

The "Stop the Clock' benefit concert will have 2 purposes.
First we are raising money for the Spokane Sexual Assault Center, which is in urgent need of support due to the loss of some funding.
The second purpose of this benefit is outreach to youth in Spokane who are at risk of sexual assault.
We give information on preventing sexual assault, increase awareness of the rape crisis, counseling services available to victims and their families.

With rape reaching epidemic proportions in the U.S. we know only a few things, that 1 in 4 girls will be assaulted by the time they reach 18,
and 1 in 3 women will be raped in their lifetime.  The other is that our services are more necessary than ever, as victim advocates we try our best to deal with the devastating aftermath our clients are forced to confront.  We hope you can find a way to help.

If you need any further information please contact Anne Spingola at 838-4469, or Adam Shipman community development specialist for The Spokane Sexual Assault Center, at 343-5080 who can give you specific information about all of our programs.
