Dear Mr. or Ms. Spickard,

My name is Mark Spickard.  For several years I have been researching my family's history.  Recently, I stumbled upon a list of "Spickard's" on the internet, which is how I acquired your address.  I would like your assistance if you are knowledgeable of any information pertaining to the Spickard history.

My goal is to trace all the Spickards from 1731 to the present, which is the birth date of  Julius Spickard who was the first known Spickard to come to America, and make it available to all those who are interested.

Julius Spickard (Rev. sldr) died 8 Apr 1778 (Rockingham Co. Va.)?, was married
to Elizabeth          DOB 1733 Augusta Co. Va.. They had three or four known sons:
George (Rev. sldr) DOB 10 JUN 1757, VA territory DOD 15 FEB 1848 Highland Co. OH., John (Rev. sldr) , William (Rev. sldr) , James ?? (Rev. sldr).

At this point of my research I have found much information on many Spickard's of the past.  The problem that I am having is tying the Spickard's of Kentucky to the Spickard's that originally came to America.

My great great grandfather's name was John Spickard (b. 1834) his wife's name was Jane McClure.  One of his son's was named William Cecil Spickard, which is my great grandfather.  William lived in Cythiana, Ky.  He was bom in 1875.  William served in the Spanish American War from 1899 - 1901 and was discharged in the Presido of San Franscio.  William was killed in November 30, 1930.  He had one known brother named Delano.  He had 4 Sisters: Mary (b. 1852), Nancy (b. 1854), Cordilia@ (b. 1858) and Eva
(b. 1859 or 60).  William was married twice.  His first wife was named Cora Humphrey
and his second wife was named Minnie Travis.

Enclosed you will find a ancestor chart, a family chart and a SASE.  If you could take the time to fill in the information and mail it back to me it would be much appreciated.  If you have access to a computer we can correspond via Email.  My address is mspicka@sprynet.com. My brother's is Bspickard @ aol.com or BS37@ juno.com.  You can contact either one of us with any information that you may have.
